I just received an 3 year h1-B extension based on an approved I-140. I had only 2 years left of 6 year h1 limit but because I have an approved I-140, I got one more year.
I attached my approved I-140 copies along with H1B extension application but the Alien number A# on this new H1-B extension approval is different than what I have on I-140 approval notice. Actually its a typo, instead of A 08 it A 008 and because of one extra zero the last digit is lost.
Is this a matter of concern? Please help.

HOW CAN ONE CHECK THE STATUS OF THE PENDING NAME CHECK OR SECURITY CLEARANCE BY THE DHS AND/OR FBI WHICH IS CAUSING A DELAY IN THE APPROVAL OF I-485s?

My background:
1. Got Ph.D three years ago
2. worked in a hospital as a PI and postdoc training for three years
3. worked as research associate at University of Houston last year
4. working as research assistant professor(Faculty) at UH
5. Four foreign grants including national grant
6. several awards including the First Prize awards in foreign provincial health field
7. Published more than 20 papers, only two are SCI (one is PNAS published this year without citation so far), others are foreign language papers have more than 40 citations.
Now I am preparing files and will apply as EB-1b.
can you tell me the best points to claim?
I will tell you any progress in the coming days. Thanks forum friends.

Hi,
I am currently on H4 and had to file my H4 Extension as my current H4 was expiring. At the same time I also filed for H1B in 2008 and was picked up in the lottery. Now I am confused on which application the USCIS will consider.
Will it be H1B or H4?
If my H4 extension is approved after H1B will my status then becomes H4?
if H1B is approved after H4 will then the status becomes H1?
Is there a way that I can make sure the status at the end I have is H1B?

An employer did H1 processing for Ms.A on US Masters degree quota in 2007, but she decided to go back to school before the H1 kicked in (communicated the same with H1 sponsor/Employer) and is getting the degree (PhD Engg) in Aug 2010. Ms. A never worked on H1 and continued to be a full time student(made the mistake of telling the university about H1).
FYI: Ms. A traveled to home country and got back on F1 visa in Aug 2007
What solutions does she have now?
1. Get a job, continue on H1 and extend it?
2. Get back to F1 ( graduate in December instead of Aug. Really difficult to find other schools giving I 20 now!)
(Ms.A may have to visit home country this year for personal reasons and visa stamping is required to get back to US!!!)
Is there any other solution?
Do you think consulting two different lawyers is helpful in this situation?
How much may be the Attorney fee ?
Deeply appreciate your input.

Hello
I am in AOS with priority date of EB2 Dec 2006. We are moving out of USA due to spouse getting a job outside of USA. If we want to retain our priority date and green card, what are we supposed to do before and after we leave USA?
In case we want to make temporary visits to the USA, do we have to apply for visitor visa? I am assuming that we will not have AP since we are not inside USA. Will we even get a visitor/business visa since we have an immigrant visa which is pending with USCIS?

Of my 5 year experience
4 years is for My Company (India) Ltd

my GC job title is programmer analyst(15-1021.00), and curently working as a Sr.Programmer analyst using EAD with different company.
Now they are promoting me as a Applications Project Lead, most of my job dutie are same as programmer plus some additional role.
I dont know whether I can accept this promoton or not, I sent a mail to lawyer, mean while if any one of you have similar experience please advice

Sure doesn't sound right. I'd suggest some controlled tests, using a gray card (or even a white card). Check the actual color with your favorite editor (Photoshop, etc). It might be your monitor calibration, too.
